Prior to purchasing the NS-555 speakers I had owned a pair of Dynaudio Contour 1.3 SE monitors, which sold for much more. I sold off most of my high-end in order to attend graduate school. I use the NS-555s in a two channel system with a Yamaha AX-592 integrated amplifier and a Yamaha DVD-S2700 DVD/SACD player. In a word this system is 'phenomenal'!
